huh. not even a day, and it seems i've changed my mind.
i said before that it's unlikely that i will do any manips from now on. but the more i thought about it...the more i realized that i really wanted to try again. i've been trying for months, and every time i would get bored or frustrated at how much my skills deteriorated and would just quit.
i'm not usually a quitter, so upon realizing this, i wasn't too pleased with myself.
so i swore i'd try today. just try. to admit surrender without giving one last ditch effort would be against my nature.
so far, it's actually working pretty well. i've spent over a solid hour on this piece (longer than i could manage with any of my attempts over the past few months) and i'm...enjoying myself. i haven't enjoyed myself while manipping in a long time.
i'm doing a lot of painting in it, and i'm enjoying that too. i recorded some of the painting i've done so far and uploaded it to Youtube for those who'd like to see:
[link]i'd also love any critiques you can offer so far - even if all you really have to look at is a youtube video. my abilities have pretty much wasted away over time, so i'm fairly rusty. this is an excuse to be brutal. c: feel free to post them here or on the video itself.
